I work in an area of Jingdezhen called Tang Ja Wu. This area is "real Jdz", I know I am the only foreigner working there, in 2.5 years I have been able to build relationships with the neighbors, workers, restaurants and other ceramists in the area. Its a small community governed and policed by the residents. When I first saw my studio I said to myself "there is no way I could make one pot there". It is located up a hill and the gas kiln is about 20 yards away from my workspace and that too is up a hill, so transporting my greenware, as well as my glazed ware is somewhat of a workout and honestly my knees cant handle it.
One thing is constant, I still have poor quality photomanship!
still doing it
